The Home Across Cattail Bay

A children’s book I was commissioned to illustrate my senior year of college (2017). The pictures were drawn traditionally on Bristol board paper and colored with prismacolor markers. Pages were then scaled digitally by the author and printed in a limited series. They were sold locally for the Waco Humane Society in December of 2017. 

I learned a lot about how to make a book and how to pace myself for larger projects. Looking at it now, I see so many ways to improve the work. However, this was my first published work on a professional level, even if it was on a small scale.
